Green Infrastructure Policy Workshop 2. Photos of Rock Island Corridor and Shawnee Mission School District's Center for Academic Achievement.

Thanks to strong participation in the region, a set of policies and strategies have now been prioritized for a comprehensive regional green infrastructure approach. Join us for the second of two policy workshops to provide your insight on how the regional Green Infrastructure Framework may facilitate policy development.

Green infrastructure, as defined in MARC’s Green Infrastructure Framework, includes not only stormwater management but also integrated, nature-based infrastructure solutions that provide multiple benefits and help solve community challenges. The Green Infrastructure Framework and Playbook are designed to help communities identify priority places for holistic green infrastructure. Both include site-based strategies that address ecological health and offer guidance on how to connect diverse stakeholder groups and improve the delivery of community and infrastructure services.

The current phase of work is to identify key policy that will assist the governments and organizations in different watersheds to work together towards a common purpose of greater health and resilience. Our first policy workshop prioritized policy. This workshop will reveal pathways for implementation and adoption.
