Johnson County, Kansas approved award of multiple contracts IFB# 2016-002 for the 2017 model years. Clay County, Missouri Parks Department purchased body cameras and accessories from WatchGuard Video for $7,280 on contract EF04-15 with cost savings of $1,432.

Holt, Missouri Fire Protection District purchased a Pierce pumper from Pierce Manufacturing for $381,680 on contract FS12-15 with cost savings of $22,780.

Lawrence, Kansas purchased two Raptor RP-1 Dual Ka-Band antennas from Kustom Signals for $3,643 on contract EF04-15 with cost savings of $910.

Pettis County, Missouri Fire Protection District purchased a pumper and a ladder truck from Ferrara Fire Apparatus for $1,158,608 on contract FS12-15 with cost savings of $69,516.

Platte County, Missouri purchased four Directional Golden Eagle II fixed-mount radar with dual antennas from Kustom Signals for $9,555 on contract EF04-13 with cost savings of $2,354.

Total cost savings to our agencies for January 2017: $95,560.

KCRPC Advisory Committee

The committee provides professional government purchasing experience and technical support to the KCRPC. All members of the Advisory Committee must be current members of the Mid-America Council of Public Purchasing. KCRPC invites active agencies to serve on the committee. Please contact us if interested. Current members of the Advisory Committee include cities of Olathe, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Kansas City, Pleasant Hill, North Kansas City, Lee's Summit R-7 School District and counties of Douglas, Wyandotte, Miami, Clay and Johnson.

On-site purchasing workshops offered

Did you know that KCRPC offers individual onsite workshops? Your agency can learn how to take advantage of our services, use local contracts and purchase using the HGACBuy contracts. Contact KCRPC to schedule your workshop at no cost for your agency.


Bid/contract 64 for emergency vehicle equipment is now renewed for 1/1/17 to 12/31/17 with 911Custom, Commenco, Defender Supply, Ed Roehr Safety Products, and Ka-Comm. Discounts vary for available brands, such as; Havis Shield, Pro-Guard, Setina, Whelan, Motorola scanners/radios, Code 3, Federal Signal, SoundOff Signal, Streamlight (flashlights), Tomar, Troy, Rhino, EF Johnson, Patriot Enterprises, D&R Electronics, Falcon HR Stationary, Golden Eagle, Jotto Desk, Kenwood, Harris, Rhino and Secure Idle.

Ka-Comm renewal includes Harris Refresh Program for radio trade-ins and this will expire 7/28/17. It is not known at this time if Harris will extend the program.

Petroleum products bid/contract with Heathwood Oil is now renewed for 1/17/17 to 1/31/18 with two one-year renewal options remaining.
