Clackamas Town Center Shooting: Lessons Learned

PSAP Managers: Learn how to address a mass-shooting incident in a public setting.

On Dec. 11, 2012, 22-year-old Jacob Tyler Roberts ran into a shopping center and opened fire on shoppers and employees with a stolen semiautomatic rifle. Roberts killed two people and wounded a third person before committing suicide. This session will be an overview of the mall shooting at the Clackamas Town Center in unincorporated Clackamas County, outside of Portland, Ore. This presentation will review the incidents from that day and will emphasize lessons learned and how this impacted Communications Center staff and their overall operations.

Instructor: Mark Spross, Clackamas County Communications Center
