This course is designed to provide local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities and capabilities of an effective Incident Commander (IC) on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: 1) responding to the incident and command needs of the incident, and 2) effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of an IC on an All-Hazards ICS IMT. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable participants to process and apply their new knowledge.
There is no charge for attending, but registration is required. This is a five-day, 40-hour course.

Course Objectives

Prerequisites:                     
Prerequisites: Required: IS100, IS200, IS700, IS800, ICS300, and ICS400. 

Target Audience:                 
NIMS ICS Position Specific training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to functional, support, or unit leader positions on Type 3 or 4 AHIMTs, or by those persons who desire to seek credentials/certification in those positions.

Complete all sections, #1 through #22b and include your FEMA Student Identification (SID) number required (# 3). To create or retrieve your SID visit: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid. Be sure to document required pre-requisite requirements #10 (list course dates completed/include copies of certificates of completion or transcript) on an additional attachment.

Priority registration is reserved for emergency services personnel in the nine-county Kansas City metropolitan area: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri and Leavenworth, Johnson, Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas area. There is no cost to attend. Class size is limited to 30.
