G8.4 Purpose and need: This project will provide a grade separated crossing for pedestrians and bicyclist to get across 87th Street a busy 4-lane divided arterial street. Current access requires walking up a flight of 38 stairs, using a narrow sidewalk and crossing at a signalized intersection. This configuration discourages use of this connection. The crossing will connect Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park to a heavily used extensive mixed-use trail system. The tunnel will also provide access to residential area and a school.

This project will remove a major barrier to bicyclists and pedestrians on the Little Mill Creek Trail system.
