Is your organization prepared to serve vulnerable populations before, during and after a disaster?

Sponsored by the Community Disaster Resiliency Network and the Metropolitan Emergency Managers Committee, the Mid-America Regional Council invites you to participate in the upcoming workshop "Planning for Disasters with Vulnerable Populations" on Monday, Nov.25, 2019. The workshop will provide attendees with knowledge, strategies and tools to enhance the working relationship with your clients and empower them to take action for disaster resiliency and preparedness.   

OBJECTIVES:

  • Gain a stronger understanding of community vulnerabilities in the Kansas City Metro area.
  • Learn how disasters discriminate and how to assist vulnerable populations to prepare for disasters.
  • Learn basic skills to enhance effective communication with vulnerable individuals and/or populations.

REGISTRATION: This seminar is free to attend. However, registration is required. Register Today!.

DEADLINE: The deadline to register is Nov. 11, 2019.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Community-based, faith-based and healthcare organizations, and individuals who serve vulnerable populations in the Kansas City Metro area.
