Facing the Future

Accessibility to arts and culture can influence policy goals, including economic development, urban revitalization, tourism, education and
youth development. Many of these policy objectives require leadership from planners, nonprofit administrators, as well as the business and local government communities. In 2010, Americans for the Arts reported that even during difficult economic times America's nonprofit arts industry generates $135.2 billion in economic activity every year, resulting in $22.3 billion in federal, state and local tax revenues. This year's forum focuses on the value of the arts in economic and community development. Our speaker will be joined by a panel of government, nonprofit and creative arts leaders who are working to advance the arts and improve civic life in the Greater Kansas City region.
