The following are instructors schedule to teach public safety communications trainings during 2022. Course instructors are subject to change without prior notice.

CHRISTINA HAYS
911 Supervisor, Independence Police Department

Christina Hays began her career as a dispatcher in September 2009 at Johnson County Emergency Dispatch in Warrensburg, Missouri, and has since worked at Benton County Dispatch and Independence Police Department. She has dispatched for police, fire and emergency medical services and served as shift supervisor for a total of eight years among the three agencies. Her other assignments have included certified training operator, emergency medical dispatch quality assurance coordinator, training coordinator, and lead crisis negotiator. In 2011, she became an EMT to better understand what it was like to work on the other side of the radio and held a part-time EMT position for 10 years of her dispatch career.

MARK LOPEZ
Fire Chief, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Fire Protection District

Mark Lopez is a full-time fire chief with the Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Fire Protection District and Ambulance Service. A 24-year year veteran of emergency services, Mark started his career as a communications officer where he was certified as a fire service dispatcher, emergency medical dispatcher, an APCO telecommunication training officer, and domestic violence, suicide, and hostage call taker. From there, Mark served the citizens of Overland Park, Kansas for fifteen years. As a fire service instructor, Mark educates personnel in Basic Life Support, Firefighter Essentials, EMS Continued Education, Public Information Dissemination, and Fire Service Tactics and Strategies. When Mark is not busy at work, he is busy at home being a husband to his wife, Corrie, and a dad to his two kids, Mercy and Creed.
